Confirmation. Sealed by the Spirit.
Students in our quad parish community (Corpus Christi, Holy Name of Mary, St. Joseph, and Ss. Peter and Paul) receive the Sacrament of Confirmation their senior year of high school.
Mission and Overview:
The goal of our parish confirmation preparation is to help teenagers understand the effects of the Holy Spirit in their lives, bring them into a deeper relationship with Christ, and unite them more deeply into the Body of Christ, especially at the parish level (CCC 1309).
The Holy Spirit is powerful and transformative. When the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the apostles at Pentecost, the world was forever changed: The new era of the Church began, and the apostles went out to all the nations proclaiming the good news of the love of Jesus.
Armed with a critical mission, the early Church moved forward in faith and boldness. It's that same Spirit — a spirit of power and love — that the Church of today must and will have to move forward, sharing the Gospel with the next generation. It's time to come together, once again. It's time for a New Fire in our homes, parishes, and culture. It's time to call on the Spirit like never before and respond to the mission put before us.
